The General Assembly is the supreme body of CISS and it is made up by its full, associate, adherent and related members, adding up to 78 members. Its main responsibilities include establishing the necessary the policies and rules to fulfill the CISS purposes, issuing statements and recommendations on social security, and electing CISS authorities.

Every year, the CISS organizes an annual meeting in order to present The Americas Social Security Report and celebrate the technical meetings of theAmerican Social Security Commissions (CASS) and Sub-Regions and that integrate the Conference.

This year, the XXVI General Aseembly - Annual Meeting 2010 will take place from September 20 to 23 in Panama City, Panama, thanks to the hospitality of Caja del Seguro Social de Panamá (CSS).
